NIHR ‘PPI in Action’

Please find details below of the tenth webinar in our NIHR ‘PPI in Action’ webinar series that you may be interested in Our next webinar of the series is called: SCIENCE – Powered by Parents About this event: SCIENCE – Powered by Parents is a fun walk-through of how families have helped shape the NIHR SCIENCE trial from idea to implementation. We’ll take a light-hearted, behind-the-scenes tour of how parents influenced the design, delivery and dissemination of the study – keeping everything practical, doable and genuinely family-friendly. Expect real examples of how small tweaks from families made a big difference – improving recruitment, smoothing delivery, and transforming the way results are shared. This open, interactive session celebrates a simple truth: research works best when families are in the room…..and with a bit of luck, we’ll be perfectly timed for the study’s results to appear in The Lancet! Developing leaders in palliative care

Dear all,

I wanted to share with you the blog we have written following the PPI PhD student workshop series “Developing leaders in palliative care”. The workshops were extremely well received by PPI attendees and the PhD students – who really valued the time and experiences being shared. Please read the full blog here: https://kingsengagedresearchblog.wordpress.com/2025/12/09/developing-leaders-in-palliative-care-through-intimate-honest-and-open-conversations/

We are pleased to let you all know that we were fortunate enough to be funded to run a second series of workshops and will soon be advertising the opportunities available – watch this space!

Best wishes,

India, Megan and Rachel

Poetry Workshop: Playing with Words

In this workshop you’ll explore the language of healthcare through interactive poetry exercises, reflecting on experiences as patients, carers, or advocates. Together, you will uncover forgotten words, reimagine familiar ones and invent new language that captures hopes, challenges and contributions. No previous writing experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to play with words.
