What is healthcare research and public involvement?

Across the KCL faculty of Nursing, Midwifery, and Palliative Care, we are working on increasing diversity through the Inclusive Research and Education Practices (IREP) Project. The project has three workstreams which aim to increase diversity of staff, research participants and public involvement members. This third working group have recently developed a series of infographics to brainstorm and find ways to reach new members of the public who may not know much about research. The infographic images below were developed by a group of 10 members of the public who have started to get involved in public involvement more recently. This workshop provided a good opportunity to reflect on what they wish they knew before they started and what they hope to share with others who are considering becoming involved in research.
